Grandma Russon

September 17, 2008
Grandma has joined Grandpa
My Grandma passed away only 2 hours after I saw her last. Overall old age was the cause, with cancer being the aggressive accomplice. She was ready to move on, and be with her sweet husband, my Grandpa. It's always sad to see such an amazing person pass on and leave you behind, but not that sad. My emotions have almost been nothing but joy. I know, without any doubt, that she has finally been reunited with Grandpa and has triumphed over her physical and emotional obstacles. She is perfect. We love you Grandma. I can't wait to see her again.

Ben's Accomplishments

Ben is getting so big! In every way. He loves being in new things, sitting up, standing up, etc. He's such a good sport about things too! Here he is in his saucer. With the help of a blanket stuffed around him, he sat in this for a bit.

Here he is in the bumbo. He doesn't last long in this one yet. He needs a little more neck strength.

Speaking of neck strength, this is his first time holding it up so well! He was so proud of himself, and so was his mom!

I jumped the gun and tried a little rice cereal this day. He's only 3.5 months old, but I just wanted to see how he would react. He's not a fan. And to be honest, neither is his mom or sister. We both decided to taste it out and it was nasty! Poor Ben. I wish I could slip him a frosty! :)

Cheese!

Lydia is, for the most part, way happy and goofy. So is Ben, but he just can't "Cheese" it like Lydia yet, so here are some of my most recent favorite pictures of her super cute smile.
Lydia and Mr. Duck
Lydia and Mr. Ben
Lydia in Mr. .... just kidding.
And for some reason, this specific picture does my heart good. It's one of those smiles that is on the border of being a cry or something... it's hilarious! She's going to hate this picture when she gets older I think. Ha!

Surprise!!!

If you're wondering if that is a cookies and cream cake from Cold Stone you're right- it is. And it was delicious!!! We had a little party for Lannette's Birthday. It was a lot of fun.
Lydia and Savannah seriously LOVE eachother! They were going crazy all night long, dancing and hugging. They are so cute together!

Gateway Day

Aug 30

Nothing like a fun FREE getaway huh?! Lydia loves water, so we took a family trip downtown.
She had a ton of fun with Jon. And from this picture you can see, Jon is having just as much fun... actually, probably even more!

I'm not crazy about this but.. I mean "back" shot of me, but I'm sad to say, it's better than a front shot. :) I really love getting out as a family. We had a great time! We even met a way nice couple who recently moved here from Chicago to be closer to the mountains because they are way outdoorsie kind of people. I admire them for being so spontaneous! I think that's great.

Cool Kids!

I have always had a feddish for crazy glasses! And I'm so happy to announce that the feddish was successfully transfered from my genes, to my kids. But seriuosly, they so rock when those puppies are on!!! Right?
