Jon and Rach

Howdy! I think there may be 2 people who even ever look at our blog... but that's probably because I haven't told anyone about it really. I'm a nerd. I just like to do it as a little journal for our family. So if you are reading this, feel lucky.... oh so lucky. :)

Jon and I are doing really great! Mostly because Jon is the most unselfish great person in the world! Stop gagging, it's true. :) And I'll tell you why. The other night I was just tired from the daily duties of being a mom, specifically the duties of caring for a newborn. It can get mundane... if that's the word to use there. Anyway, Jon put all his other obligations aside and made a special evening for me. He made me relax and close my eyes as he setup my own private spa. He turned on "The Notebook" and made me sit back and watch as he massaged my feet and legs and shoulders. He even warmed up the towels he was using in the dryer! It was great. He also served me icecream... he probably made dinner that night too... Isn't he great? I hope he doesn't mind me sharing these things. It just really means a lot to me.

So, about me. I am loving staying home with my kids. It's weird to say "kids" but it's also really fun. I go back to work in a week, only to give my two week notice. That's right! I'm a full time home maker and I can't wait! I didn't mind working, but it was hard to leave Lydia crying at the door every night. It would be hard to leave two babies now. I am eager to be able to help out Jon the most. He is working so hard at his job and at school and with his calling. The poor man might have a break down! I would have if I was in his shoes, which is why I'm not. He is just amazing, and has really stepped up to this husband and father plate. Dang! Once again the conversation returns to Jon... I think I'm in love. :) I can't wait for the fourth Twilight book to come out, and the movie. Speaking of movies, I've recently had a thing for "Smallville" and I'm almost done with the second season... which averages about a season per week for me. Pathetic! It's been way fun tho.

Now to Jon... Jon is staying way busy! He has less than a year of school left which is so great! I can't wait for him to have that stress gone, and hopefully pass it on to me. I wish I would have taken school a little more seriously. But hey, I can't undo the past. He recently went to his Grandpa's cabin with some of my brothers and Dad. He seemed to have a ton of fun! He was able to shoot his rifle for the first time. It's a russian assault rifle my parents gave him for Christmas. He thought it was awesome... but his ears are still ringing. I'm packing earplugs for him next time! He is working and just being the man really. I love you honey! You so rock.

Lydia

My daughter is a nut!!! And I absolutely love it. Clearly she gets her personality from her dad.... well, maybe a little of it comes from me too. :)

Lydia is more and more fun each day! She is seriously one of the happiest little people I know. She has been a GREAT big sister, and had welcomed Ben into our home with open arms. She is always trying to kiss his face and stuff his mouth with a binky. She is so helpful around the house. I always thought I wanted a son first, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I love having my baby girl as my side kick, trying to do everything that I do. I love her so much.

So, the other night Jon and I checked on Lydia before we went to bed, and we found her stuffed animals legs wrapped around her neck. Don't freak out, it wasn't life threatening. :) Next thing we know she rips the animal away and is totally talking in her sleep. She even opened her eyes, but was still asleep! It was the funniest thing ever!

I could seriously go on and on!! We just love her so much. She's a total Daddy's girl too! When Jon gets home she runs to the door. And a lot of times, when he is leaving she just cries. It's sad, but so cute to see how much she loves Jon. Who doesn't though? :) Lydia, you are an Angel. We love you!

Benjamin

I can't believe how fast time has gone! Ben is already over a month old now. This picture is a little old. He no longer has a yellowish nose or eyes. I personally think he gets cuter every day.
It has been a really great day today, monumental actually. Ben has been smiling and talking with me for the first time. It's such a payoff for me. It makes feeding him 50 times a day, and changing him just as much, all worth it. :)
Ben is now wearing 3 to 6 month clothes.... I have a feeling he is going to be a really big man, which I think is great. Jon is a little skeptical about it because he feels if Ben gets taller than his dad, it's just going to be a big inconvenience for him. I personally think it will rock! I want to feel like the little mom next to her giant son! Now Lydia on the other hand... I hope she and I are even. I don't need my little girl to be a giant. :)
Life feels complete with Ben. He is such a joy to us. I love this first year of life because it seems like each day they make leaps and bounds in developing physically, their personalites, mentally, etc. Love love love it! Ben, you're the man!

Big Ben!

Does he look big to you? That's probably because he is! This is little... big Benjamin. He was born May 27th. He weighed in at 10 lbs 11 oz and is 23 inches long. He was nice to his mom and put her in labor for less than 6 hours, and came out after only 9 minutes of pushing! Not only was he nice to his mom, he was a shock as well. Jon and I were planning on a girl- Joceyln Kapri, but clearly that name would not be fitting for him. :) Let this be a warning! The doctors aren't always right! Lucky for us, we have wonderful friends and great families who really have helped us get a head start with our wardrobe for the little man. He wears 3 month clothes already!! He is the most easiest baby in the world. I looked up what Benjamin meant, and it means "wonderful boy". Go figure!

Our family has been so blessed to have such an Angel come into our home! Now we have two sweet Angels- and one handsome devil!! (That would be Jon...) With a crazy lady on the side. :) (That would be me...)

Pictures paint a thousand words.... or something like that, so I'm going to post a few now! Enjoy!
Oh geez... I obviously do not do this enough because I can't get it to do what my brain is imagining it will! Oh well, it's all here right? I'll work on making it pretty later.
